Global expansion and modernisation – fetra invests in quality
Investments of more than 4 million Euros, 11 new workplaces, a considerably extended production area and a 30 percent capacity increase. In time of crisis fetra sticks to Germany.
“The quality of our products is one of our major aspects. Producing in a low-wage country can not be an alternative to Germany for us. Therefore we invest in modern machinery, receive a higher automation level and secure our competitive position. Furthermore we prepare to develop the new markets in Europe.”, explains Jochen Fechtel, sales manager and shareholder of fetra Fechtel Transportgeraete GmbH. The company, located in Borgholzhausen, possesses a state-of-the-art flow process. The basic components of all fetra-transport equipment products are manufactured by high-performance automatic saws, bending and welding machines. These components are passing the shot-blasting and powder spray coating facilities to reach the newly installed assembly department. All monitored by a novel and frequency controlled conveyor system. The modernised storage system with a narrow aisle warehouse and a flow rack for open carts and pallet trucks were individually customised and installed in Borgholzhausen. Fetra is one of the world's leading producers of branded transport equipment. The carts and trolleys of the family business are used in warehouses, industrial productions, business concerns, but also in work-shops and administration. “Of course we feel the effects of the economic crisis. Nevertheless we will invest more than 3 million euros to expand our production area in Borgholzhausen within the next year. We want to be prepared for the future.”, says Jochen Fechtel. “Furthermore we have trust in our customers who will buy our extremely durable and high-quality products in the future.”
